About

I must confess. I have written and rewritten this page a dozen times by now. How do you write a bio for people you may never meet?

And for the people who already know you… well, they already know you!

I’ve finally settled on listing a few personal points that may help frame some of what you may read here. But no promises this bio won’t receive another edit in time!

  1. I live in Florida with my husband, a nearly empty nester of two amazing, kind, and brilliant humans; the sweetest and slightly overprotective dog you’ll ever meet; and a cat we were reluctant to adopt but who has completely charmed our entire family.
  2. I probably drink way too much coffee, but I’m not planning to change that anytime soon. I also have a deeply loving relationship with food. Except anchovies. I can do without them.
  3. I’m an introvert who loves people. I feel like I need to say this because there’s a misconception about introverts and their affection for their fellow humans. I love you; I may just need a really long nap after our time together.
  4. Related to number 3: I deeply love solitude and the outdoors, and dread group settings. Please forgive me if you invite me to your dance party and I decline. Honestly, I kind of feel like I should receive a gold star for surviving the grocery store and attending church services. And PLEASE never throw me a surprise party. I mean never.
  5. For years, I’ve been involved in the education and nonprofit sector. This work has taken our family across cultures and into the lives of truly incredible humans. I appreciate how my family has always come alongside me, willing and wholehearted, even when the path is unfamiliar. These experiences have widened our perspectives, deepened our love and respect for others, and offered an honest look at both the beauty and brokenness that exist in the world.
  6. And finally, I love Jesus. That sounds super cliché, but it’s true. Church remains a constant source of confusion and tension for me, and people get complicated so quickly. But I’ve spent the past 30+ years reading and studying the story and life of Jesus, and He never ceases to inspire, comfort, and challenge my mind and heart. He simultaneously makes sense to me and stretches my thinking. His balance of both impartial truth and impartial grace is a constant ideal that pulls me forward.

All of this shapes how I see the world and why I write. This space is where I reflect on faith, food, nature, and the small moments that stick. It’s not polished, just honest, my way of looking for God in the middle of it all.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope something here brings comfort, sparks a thought, or helps you feel a little less alone and a little more at home with God. If you ever feel like sharing your story, I’m all ears with a cup of coffee (or tea) and a seat at the table just for you.
